Obama's unconscionable attack on the elderly

Remember The Patriot Act? Remember how liberals jumped up and down in rage and accused President Bush of subverting the Constitution and denying Americans of any number of freedoms? God forbid that we ever find out that a possible terrorist had checked out books on bomb-making! Where are these “freedom fighters” now? They’re setting up their own police state designed to intimidate and shut up millions of American citizens who dare speak out against our Dear Leader’s plans to socialize America.

You would think that a President and a party that routinely insults and threatens average citizens would enjoy little to no support. Even if – God forbid – I ever happened to agree with Obama about anything, I could never support this arrogant elitist who routinely lies about and demonizes his constituents. Saying people like me cling to guns and religion was just the beginning. Since taking office, Obama and his power-hungry minions have labeled me a terrorist for the crime of being a conservative; they’ve called me a racist, gay-bashing douchebag for espousing the notion that a Presidential candidate should actually have to show proof that he/she is an American citizen; they’ve told me that I’m too dumb to know what’s best for me regarding healthcare; they’ve tried to bring back the unconstitutional Fairness Doctrine to silence the voices of me and countless others like me; they’ve told me to shut up and get out of their way; and they’ve dared to call me and millions like me un-American. As bad as all that is, I can accept it. After all, lying and belittling and talking down to the American people – that’s just what liberals do. Now, though, they’ve really gone too far.

Obama’s assault on the elderly is the most appalling spectacle I’ve witnessed in quite some time. We’ve all seen the video clips of elderly men and women asking hard questions to Democratic Congressmen about the liberal push for socialized medicine. These are our fathers and mothers, our grandfathers and grandmothers, the wisest of our citizens making their voices heard over proposed legislation that literally carries life or death consequences for them. The House health care reform bill – not to mention the history of failed health care initiatives in the UK, Canada, and elsewhere – shows that the elderly will be denied certain medical treatments in a system of rationing and pro-euthanasia government policy. This plan guts Medicare, requires mandatory “end of life” consultations for all seniors, and sets the stage for the rationing of medicine and care among those who need it the most – the elderly and, even more indefensibly, the very young. Why spend the money on a hip replacement for Granny when she’s going to die soon, anyway? Costly cancer treatments for an old man? Afraid not. We’ll just dope him up with pain killers, wait for him to die, and then roll around in the money we saved. Your baby is going to be born with Down’s Syndrome? Sorry, only “productive” human beings are allowed to be born in Obama’s Amerika. People, this health care plan has nothing to do with health care and everything to do with power. You’re doggone right that seniors have serious questions about this plan, and they certainly have the right to ask their representatives for answers.

If Obama and the liberals really cared about the health of senior citizens, they would be moving to reassure them that the plan won’t deny them treatments and medicines just because they’re old. They can’t do this, of course, because their plan truly is an assault on the elderly. Instead of actually talking facts and debating the issues, the liberals do what they always do – demonize their opponents. So now all of these seniors who dare to question the Obamessiah’s health care plan have been labeled a gang of thugs, a mob paid to cause problems by vicious right-wingers like myself, swastika-bearing fascists out to “get” Obama. I don’t know about you, but I for one am mad as hell at these vicious, indefensible attacks on the heart and soul of the American people.

Sadly, this is just the beginning, folks. Obama is putting the pieces in place for a complete assault on liberty and freedom in this country. When we defeat this socialized medicine plan – and we will defeat it – the usurper in the White House, having seen his signature program go down in smoke despite enjoying Democratic majorities in both houses of Congress and staring a disastrous 2010 election in the face, will very likely move to silence his critics once and for all. I will expound upon this nightmare scenario in upcoming blog entries – and you’d better believe I’ll be returning to the subject of health care over and over again, as well.

For now, let us take heart that America is finally waking up to the dangers posed by our current President and the liberals in Congress. The liberals are running scared of the American people, and they will try to force socialized medicine down our throats out of spite if nothing else. Many of them know that they will be voted out of office whether Obamacare passes or not, for the silent majority is silent no more and will not soon forget the events of the past month. No left-wing cabal of latte-sipping socialists can ever defeat the American spirit. Even if it takes a second American Revolution, we will take our country back from the arrogant few who dare to try and destroy everything our Founding Fathers risked (and in many cases gave) their lives to bequeath to us.
